Marathon prompts uptown street closures

Portions of several uptown streets will close because of the Novant Health Thunder Road Marathon races Friday and Saturday.

The following streets will be closed from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday:

▪ Mint Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fourth Street.

▪ Third Street between Mint and Poplar streets.

These additional streets will close starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, and will reopen at 4 p.m. except as noted:

▪ Fourth Street between Graham Street and Poplar Street. It will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday.

▪ Poplar Street between Fourth and Third streets.

▪ Mint Street, between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fourth Street.

▪ Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Graham and Church streets.
