Charlotte traffic: Police at numerous wrecks Friday morning
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are at numerous wrecks on Friday morning.
Wrecks at 9:30 a.m. have been reported in the 5700 block of Central Avenue and on East W.T. Harris Boulevard at Keyway Boulevard.
Earlier wrecks were reported on West Trade Street at northbound Interstate 77, on South Sycamore Street at West Trade Street, on Fairview Road at Sharon Road and on Selwyn Avenue at Queens Road.
Police also were at wrecks on Freedom Drive at Berryhill Road, on Ardrey Kell Road at Tom Short Road, on Cindy Lane at Beatties Ford Road, in the 900 block of Providence Road and in the 600 block of East Stonewall Street.
A rollover wreck early Friday sent one person to the hospital and closed part of Interstate 77 near uptown, Observer news partner WBTV reported. The wreck happened on northbound I-77 near Brookshire Boulevard.
Police believe two vehicles were speeding and that one hit the other, causing the struck car to roll over, WBTV reported.
