Widespread rain is expected Wednesday night and early Thursday in the Charlotte region.
Rain totaling 1 to 2 inches could fall Wednesday night, plus another 10th to a quarter-inch Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
The chance of rain is 100 percent Wednesday night and 60 percent Thursday.
Winds of 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph, are forecast to accompany Wednesday night’s rain.
The rain should move out of the region by late Thursday morning, and the day should turn mostly sunny, with an unseasonable high of 73. The normal high for this week of the year is 62.
Wednesday's high could reach 67.
Friday through Monday should be sunny but far cooler.
Highs are expected to fall to near 60 Friday, 55 Saturday, 47 Sunday and 48 Monday, according to the weather service. Tuesday should rebound to a high of 54.
