Man dies in wreck on Lancaster Highway
Alcohol might have factored into a three-vehicle wreck that killed a 58-year-old man on Lancaster Highway Wednesday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Robert Anthony King died when his 2010 Nissan Rogue crossed the double yellow lane divider, sideswiped a 2010 Cadillac Escalade and struck a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup head-on, police said.
The driver of the Escalade was uninjured, while the pickup driver had minor injuries, police said.
The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 13700 block of Lancaster Highway, near Ballantyne Commons Parkway.
Alcohol use by King may have factored into the wreck, police said. Speed of the vehicles did not appear to be a factor.
It had rained before the crash, the road surface was wet and the area of the wreck has no street lights, police said.
Anyone who witnessed the wreck is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Detective Steve Williams at 704-432-2169.
