Westbound I-40 in Statesville reopens after wreck
Both lanes of westbound Interstate 40 have reopened at I-77 in Statesville.
A wreck closed the lanes at about 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
At 6 p.m., I-77 southbound in Davidson was backed up because of a wreck.
In Charlotte, the ramp from Independence Boulevard to Charlottetowne Avenue closed at 7 a.m. Saturday for landscaping work and will reopen at 8 p.m.
A signed detour directs motorists to use Independence to Interstate 277, and then Stonewall Street back to Charlottetowne Avenue.
