Clear skies for Thanksgiving in the Charlotte area

Good news for Thanksgiving week travelers: Skies should remain sunny to mostly sunny into the weekend in the Charlotte area.

Below-normal temperatures are in store for Wednesday, with highs expected to reach only a respective 55 and 56.

Overnight lows will be chilly at 39 degrees Wednesday night.

But the mercury should climb back to a high of 60 on Thanksgiving Day, which is the normal high for this week of the year, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

Overnight lows will improve to an expected 46 Thursday night and 49 Friday night.

And high temperatures will warm even more, to 66 Friday and 63 Saturday, before bouncing down to 53 Sunday and Monday, according to the latest NWS forecast.

Showers could roll in Sunday. The chance of rain stands at 30 percent during the day, 40 percent Sunday night and 50 percent Monday.
