Charlotte traffic: 1 critical in wreck involving CATS bus
Medic took one person with life-threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center from a wreck involving a CATS bus on Oaklawn Avenue at Ethel Guest Lane on Tuesday morning.
Three passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital, a CATS spokeswoman said.
It was not clear whether the critically injured person was in the car or the bus.
Four Medic units and a mass casualty bus responded to the scene, WBTV reported. The road was shut down in all directions.
What caused the wreck wasn’t known.
No students, meanwhile, were injured in a wreck involving a school bus and a car on Pineville-Matthews Road at Elm Lane, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman Yaviri Escalera said.
Twelve students were on the school bus headed to Park Road Elementary School, Escalera said.
On Interstate 85 southbound, a wreck blocked the right and right center lanes near Billy Graham Parkway about 8:30 a.m.
