More than 100 Charlotte nonprofit organizations hope you’ll step back from the holiday bustle to consider giving of your time and treasure as part of Giving Tuesday.

The global day of helping those in need started in 2012.

In Charlotte, 108 organizations take part in the day. They ask that you donate money to them and pledge your volunteer time online at http://sharecharlotte.com/givingtuesday.

The Charlotte Observer’s annual Giving Guide also lists donation and volunteer needs for agencies across the Charlotte region.
