Dense fog advisory for Charlotte area Wednesday morning

A dense fog advisory is in effect for the Charlotte region until 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Visibility is less than a quarter-mile in many areas, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

Showers are likely all day, with a chance of thunderstorms between 3 and 4 p.m.

The rain should taper off Wednesday night, and Thursday should be mostly sunny.

Temperatures will turn considerably cooler, from an expected high of 65 Wednesday to 54 Thursday.

Forecast lows will drop from 40 Wednesday night to 33 Thursday night and 35 Friday and Saturday nights.

Highs are expected to stay in the mid-50s Friday and Saturday under mostly sunny skies.
