A Charlotte man was arrested and charged Saturday in a hit-and-run that killed a 19-year-old woman on Pineville-Matthews Road in south Charlotte this past week.
Juston Riccardo Jones, 25, voluntarily went to police headquarters for an interview on Saturday afternoon and admitted to being the driver of the Infiniti J30 that hit Jeanny Phara Lamartiniere, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged Jones with felony hit and run. He is free on $10,000 bail.
The break in the case came late Friday when police said they got an anonymous tip that the car was under a cover in the 7300 block of Pebblestone Drive, off Village Lake Drive and East Independence Boulevard.

Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit found the burgundy Infinity under a car cover. Its driver’s side mirror was missing as expected.
Last Wednesday about 1 a.m., police found Lamartiniere lying unresponsive in the road. She apparently left her car during an argument with a male passenger and was struck, WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, reported.
On Friday, detectives scoured the area but couldn’t find the car’s registered owner. They got a search warrant and seized the car as evidence. It was towed to CMPD headquarters, where it’s been photographed and processed by crime scene technicians, police said.
