Police are at a wreck with injuries shortly after 9 a.m. on Beatties Ford Road near Northwest School of the Arts.

Police also are at a wreck with injuries in the 200 block of East Sixth Street.

Other wrecks have been reported on Fordham Road at West Boulevard and on North Davidson Street at East 11th Street.

In downtown Mooresville, motorists should avoid the intersections of Main Street and Wilson Avenue and Broad Street and Wilson Avenue. Traffic lights are not working at the intersections after a wreck knocked down power lines Thursday night.

According to state law, when a traffic signal is out, the intersection should be treated as an all-way stop sign, meaning all directions stop and then proceed once it’s safe to do so.

Work crews anticipate the signals will be out through the weekend before all repairs can be finished, town spokeswoman Kim Sellers said.

In Charlotte early Friday, three people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from a multi-vehicle wreck on northbound Interstate 77 at West Arrowood Road, reported WBTV, the Observer’s media partner.

An SUV stopped in the middle of the interstate for an unknown reason and was struck by a car, the station reported. Two other vehicles wrecked trying to avoid the collision.

The wrecks happened about 2 a.m., police said. All lanes reopened by about 4 a.m., WBTV reported.
