The Charlotte region can expect another day of sunshine and above-normal temperatures Wednesday before rain moves into the area overnight.
Wednesday should reach a high of 67 – 14 degrees higher than normal for Dec. 16.
But showers will move in after about 1 a.m. Thursday, with a 10th to a quarter-inch of rain possible in the early morning hours.
During the day Thursday, another three-quarters to an inch of rain is expected, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

The chance of rain is 80 percent early Thursday, 100 percent during the day and 40 percent Thursday night.
Sunshine should return Friday, with an expected high of 56. That’s still a few degrees above normal for this week of the year, but overnight temperatures are forecast to plummet after that.
Thursday night can expect a low of 48, followed by overnight lows of 31 Friday, 30 Saturday and 37 Sunday, before temperatures rise again.
Saturday’s high could reach only 49 degrees, rebounding to 54 Sunday and 58 Monday under sunny skies.
Tuesday could reach 64 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of rain.
