Charlotte teen killed in South Carolina car crash

A Charlotte high school student was killed in a car crash in Greenville County, S.C., on Sunday morning.

Keundra Smith, 18, was killed in the crash around 2:20 a.m.

The SUV she was a passenger in ran off the right side of the road, hit several parked cars, then rolled over. Smith did not survive the crash. She was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

“She’s gonna be missed a lot,” Beverly Fogle said. “I don’t know anybody that didn’t like her.”

Smith’s mother, Teresa Thompson, told WBTV that her daughter was a student at Harding University High School. “Keke (Keundra) loved everyone. She was high-spirited. She accomplished a whole lot,” she said.

Thompson said her daughter played volleyball and was vice president of the student body at school.

“My favorite words to her were ‘You go, girl’ because she was always accomplishing things,” Thompson said.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Thompson said the driver was her niece.
