Charlotte traffic: Fatal wreck closes part of Mount Holly-Huntersville Road
One person was killed early Monday after a wreck involving a car and tractor-trailer in Huntersville, authorities said.
The wreck was reported around 6:10 a.m. in the 12100 block of Mount Holly-Huntersville Road. That’s near the Department of Motor Vehicles office.
It was not immediately clear what led to the wreck, but the car was under the truck after the collision, emergency officials in Huntersville said.
Mount Holly-Huntersville is closed between Reese Boulevard and Hambright Road as authorities investigate the wreck, and could remain shut for hours, according to a tweet from Huntersville firefighters.
Also Monday, emergency crews were on the scene of a wreck on Gilead Road near Interstate 77 in Huntersville, as well as collisions on Eastfield Road near Prosperity Church. In Gaston County, a stalled truck had blocked the center lane on northbound I-85 at the Lowell/McAdenville exit.
