2 rescued from Charlotte apartment fire; 1 seriously injured
Two people were rescued early Friday from a fire at a Charlotte apartment that left one of them with life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The Charlotte Fire Department at 8:30 a.m. reported heavy smoke showing from a two-story apartment at the Pressley Ridge apartment complex on Rose Vine Place, southwest of uptown near Clanton Road.
Crews saved two people from the flames and managed to quell the flames within 30 minutes, the fire department said.
One of the people rescued was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.
A volunteer disaster action team with the American Red Cross responded to the scene and reported that at least eight people were affected by the blaze.
