Charlotte trash pickup on regular schedule this week
Charlotte trash pickup returned to its regular schedule this week after having been changed for the Christmas holiday.
The regular schedule this week also applies to recycling, yard waste and bulky waste pickup.
Solid Waste Services also will pick up extra garbage placed outside of cans through Jan. 8. Extra garbage must be in bags and placed beside the cart. Do not place any items or bags on top of the cart.
Crews will collect only cardboard outside of recycling carts if the carts are full. Cardboard boxes must be cut into pieces no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet. All other recyclables must be placed in carts.
Common holiday items also can be recycled or disposed of during trash pickup.
Recycle wrapping paper, cardboard boxes, Christmas cards and wrapping paper tubing.
Do not recycle foil gift wrap, packing peanuts, plastic, bubble wrap and Styrofoam.
Place natural trees curbside for pickup. Call 311 to schedule artificial tree pickup. Remove all ornaments and decorations before placing trees curbside.
