Sunshine, below-normal temperatures for Charlotte on Wednesday

The Charlotte region can expect more sunshine on Wednesday but another day of below-normal temperatures.

The mercury stood at 22 degrees at 5 a.m. and is forecast to climb to a high of only 43 in the afternoon. That’s about 7 degrees below normal.

Thursday will warm to 50 degrees, but clouds and rain will begin to move in, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

While Thursday will be mostly cloudy, Thursday night has a 30 percent of showers and Friday a 50 percent chance.

Saturday has a 40 percent chance of rain and Sunday a 60 percent chance.

Lows are expected to improve to 31 degrees early Thursday, 41 early Friday, 44 early Saturday and 48 early Sunday.

Highs should climb to 52 Friday, 60 Saturday and 59 Sunday, according to the weather service.

Monday and Tuesday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the high 40s.
