Construction will interrupt Lynx Blue Line service this weekend
Construction related to the Lynx Blue Line Capacity Expansion Project will interrupt Blue Line service this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Blue Line will operate only between the I-485/South Boulevard Station and the Scaleybark Station, the Charlotte Area Transit System said Thursday.
No train service will be available from the New Bern Station to the Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC)/Arena stations.
Service from the New Bern Station to the CTC/Arena Stations will be accessible only via CATS bus service. Signs at each affected station will direct riders to the nearest bus stop. Look for the bus stop that says “LYNX Connector.” When the bus approaches, the headway sign will say “LYNX Connector.”
Customers in uptown can access the connector at Bay V on the Brevard Street side of the transportation center. Other stations in uptown, including the 7th Street Station, will not be served by the Lynx Connector.
Regular local fare will be required and, as always, serves as a transfer. Tickets can be purchased at open LYNX stations from the ticket vending machines. Customers paying their fare on the bus will need exact change. The bus driver cannot make change and the fare boxes do not accept credit cards.
