Charlotte traffic: Police at injury wrecks Wednesday morning

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are at wrecks involving injuries on Central Avenue at North Sharon Amity Road and on North Brevard Street at East 11th Street.

The wrecks happened at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Huntersville police have responded to a wreck with injuries on Old Statesville Road at Sam Furr Road.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police also are at wrecks on Nations Ford Road at Lone Pine Lane, on Pineville-Matthews Road at Cary Ridge Drive, on North Graham Street at West Sixth Street and in the 1600 block of South Wendover Road.

Earlier Wednesday, a driver suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle wreck in Birkdale Village in Huntersville, according to the Huntersville Fire Department.

The wreck caused significant damage to the sidewalk along Birkdale Commons Parkway, according to the fire department. The driver was arrested on a driving while impaired charge, according to WSOC-TV. The wreck happened at about 3 a.m.
