Snow flurries possible in Charlotte Sunday — but you’ll need to get up early
Charlotte has a chance of snow flurries on Sunday, but you’ll need to be up before sunrise, said Neil Dixon, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
“We’ll probably start off with flurries, and then it will start to mix with rain,” Dixon said.
The chance of flurries is forecast to start at about 5 a.m. and disappear by 8 a.m., with no accumulation, Dixon said. With a forecast morning temperature of 35 degrees, any flurries will melt on contact with the ground, he said.
The flurries will be long gone by the 1 p.m. start of the Carolina Panthers playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks at Bank of America Stadium, forecasters said.
As of Friday morning, the chance of Charlotte’s first snow flurries of the season stood at 30 percent for Sunday morning. The chance of rain is even slimmer, 20 percent, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Otherwise, the day is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high of 46.
