Charlotte Rescue Mission to host gym dedication and celebration

Charlotte Rescue Mission will host a celebration and dedication Monday of its newly renovated gym.

The event is set for 1:30-2:15 p.m. Monday at the facility, 907 W. First Street.

The gym was completely renovated using in-kind and financial donations from local fitness providers and churches.

The Charlotte Rescue mission provides a free 90-day Christian residential program for men and women who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs and are mostly homeless.

Cross-training fitness classes are now an ongoing part of the Rebound men’s addiction recovery program, said the Rev. Tony Marciano, mission executive director.

Marciano and residents who have benefited from the program will share remarks at Monday’s event.
