Iredell, Mooresville authorities searching for brothers they say shot into 2 houses
Iredell County authorities are searching for two brothers they say were involved in shootings at two Mooresville houses on separate days, the most recent on Thursday.
Iredell Sheriff’s detectives, working with Mooresville Police detectives, say Juan Antonio Hunter, 29, drove past a house on Faith Road on Jan. 8 and shot into the house six times. A fence outside was hit once and the homeowner’s vehicle four times, flattening a tire.
While they investigated that shooting, they say a second shooting took place Thursday on Statesville Avenue in Mooresville. Mooresville police found Eugene McCorkle, 62, with a single gunshot wound to his shoulder. McCorkle was treated at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and later released.
In that shooting, Mooresville police have warrants for Scottie Wallace of Troutman, Hunter’s brother, for one count each of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging firearms in city limits.
Authorities need help finding the two suspects. If you have any information call 704-664-3311 or the Mooresville-South Iredell Crime Stoppers at 704-658-9056.
