Firefighters rescued a 16-year-old girl and her dog from a second-floor window of a burning home in northeast Charlotte on Wednesday morning.

The fire happened at about 7 a.m. in a home in the 7700 block of Pickering Drive, off West Rocky River Road. The home is in the Newell Place neighborhood, reported WBTV, the Observer’s media partner.

Twenty-three firefighters controlled the blaze in 26 minutes, Capt. Jackie Gilmore of the Charlotte Fire Department said. Gilmore said no one was injured.

The cause of the fire wasn’t known Wednesday morning.
