Weather conditions by county for Charlotte area

Here is a county-by-county look at conditions across the Charlotte region Saturday morning:

North Carolina

Mecklenburg

Snow-sleet accumulations range from 3 to 4 inches … interstates and main roads are wet with some slippery spots … secondary roads ice-covered.

Mecklenburg Solid Waste centers will be closed Saturday. All CPCC branches also will be closed. The Art Institute of Charlotte and the Carolinas Aviation Museum also are closed.

All SAT testing at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is canceled. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library opens at 1 p.m. Carolina Place Mall opens at noon. ABC stores open at 1 p.m.

Johnson C. Smith University and Queens University of Charlotte, along with the Wingate University branch at Ballantyne, also are closed.

The Charlotte Nature Museum and Discovery Place are closed.

Alexander

Snow, 5-6 inches … roads snow and ice covered.

The YMCA is closed.

Anson

Trace of sleet; ice accumulation of .2 of an inch … roads mostly slushy, with some icy spots.

Burke

Snow, 6-18 inches (heaviest totals near Jonas Ridge … I-40 is slushy with some icy spots; other roads are partially snow covered to totally snow covered.

Cabarrus

Snow and sleet, 2-4 inches … I-85 wet with some slushy spots … U.S. and state routes wet to partially snow covered … secondary roads snow covered.

The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center and the Cabarrus County Library will be closed Saturday. Also closed are Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation facilities.

Cabarrus County Schools SAT testing is canceled. ABC stores open at 1 p.m.

Caldwell

Snow, 4-6 inches … roads snow and ice covered.

SAT testing at West Caldwell High is canceled.

Catawba

Snow, 3-5 inches … I-40 wet with icy spots; other roads snow and ice covered.

Valley Hills Mall will open at 1 p.m.

Cleveland

Snow, 2-5 inches (heaviest in the north) … I-85 wet with some icy spots … U.S. 74 slushy … other roads snow and ice covered.

Cleveland Community College is closed.

Gaston

Snow and sleet, 2-4 inches … I-85, U.S. 321 and U.S. 74 wet with some icy spots … other roads ice covered.

Gaston College and the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens are closed. SAT testing canceled at Hunter Huss High.

Gastonia Transit is not operating. The Gaston YMCA opens at 1 p.m.

Iredell

Snow and sleet, 4-7 inches … I-77 and I-40 wet with some icy spots; U.S. routes wet to slushy with some icy spots; other roads partially ice and snow covered.

Mooresville city offices closed.

Lincoln

Snow and sleet, 2-3 inches … roads partially snow and ice covered.

SAT testing at West Lincoln High canceled.

McDowell

Snow, 5-7 inches … roads snow and ice covered.

Montgomery

Sleet, 1 inch … roads wet with some slushy spots.

Montgomery Community College is closed.

Richmond

Trace of sleet on ground … roads wet with some slushy spots.

Rowan

Snow and sleet, 3-5 inches … I-85 slushy; other roads partially snow covered.

Rowan County Transit is not operating. SAT testing canceled at Carson and Salisbury high schools. East Rowan YMCA closed.

Rutherford

Snow, 6-8 inches … roads snow and ice covered.

Stanly

Snow and sleet, 1-3 inches … roads slushy with some icy spots.

Stanly Community College and the Stanly County YMCA are closed.

Union

Sleet, 1-2 inches … roads partially ice covered and slushy.

South Piedmont Community College and Wingate University are closed.

Watauga

Snow, 6-10 inches … roads snow covered.

South Carolina

Cherokee

Sleet, 1 inch; about .2 inch of ice … I-85 slushy with some icy spots; state routes slushy with some icy spots; secondary roads ice covered.

Chester

No snow or sleet … roads wet with some slushy spots.

Chesterfield

Ice accumulation of .25 of an inch … roads wet.

Lancaster

Sleet and snow, 1-2 inches … roads slushy in north and wet in south.

York

Sleet and snow, 1-3 inches … I-77 slushy with some icy spots; other roads partially snow and ice covered.

The York County Library is closed. All states offices are closed Saturday.
