CMS, Mecklenburg commissioners meeting pushed back a week
A joint meeting between Mecklenburg County commissioners and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board has been postponed by a week.
The meeting will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 9 in Room 267 of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center in uptown. Officials agreed to delay the meeting to ensure a majority of school board members could attend, Superintendent Ann Clark said.
The two boards were initially set to meet Feb. 1 to hash out their differences and start discussions on the potential funding implications of student assignment.
Once the school board unveils its new policy, Fuller expects the revised plan to affect how the county funds schools.
