The southbound lanes of East W.T. Harris Boulevard near Idlewild Road are closed Thursday morning as crews repair power lines knocked down in a vehicle wreck.

The wreck happened shortly before 3 a.m., according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

About 300 Duke Energy customers were without power because of the wreck, including at the nearby Waterford Creek apartment complex.

Police, meanwhile, were at wrecks at 9 a.m. on Sardis Road at Strawberry Hill Drive and on Monroe Road at Vista Drive.

Police continued to investigate earlier wrecks on Central Avenue at Louise Avenue, on Providence Road at Providence Country Club Drive and on Gleneagles Road at Park Road.
