Beautiful weekend forecast calls for full parking lots at Crowders Mountain State Park
With a warm and sunny weekend ahead, Crowders Mountain State Park expects lots of visitors and suggests you carpool – and arrive early or late.
“If possible, visitors should avoid arriving at peak hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when parking areas are likely to be full,” said Larry Hyde, the park superintendent. “Once parking spaces are full, park gates may be closed to prevent congestion on the main entrance road and nearby roads, and visitors are not allowed to park outside the gates. When a sufficient number of parking spaces are emptied, the gates will reopen.”
Gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.
To get up-to-date information about traffic conditions at the Gaston County park, Hyde recommends you follow Crowders Mountain State Park on Facebook or Twitter (@CrowdersMt).
