Sunshine, warmer temperatures for Charlotte this weekend
Friday is starting off cold but can expect above-normal temperatures by afternoon, kicking off what’s sure to be a beautiful weekend.
The morning has been chilly, with a high of 31 degrees reported at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 6 a.m.
But the mercury is forecast to climb to 53 degrees by mid-afternoon under sunny skies.
Saturday and Sunday should be likewise sunny, with respective highs of 57 and 65.
Monday and Tuesday could be even warmer, with the high climbing to 67 both days under partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
Tuesday afternoon, however, has a 40 percent chance of showers and Tuesday night a 70 percent chance of rain.
Thunderstorms are even possible Wednesday morning, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday’s high could hit 63.
Sunshine is forecast to return on Thursday, with a more seasonable high of 50.
