Clouds for Monday but sunshine for the weekend

Clouds are lingering in the Charlotte area and could bring some showers or rain on Monday. The wet weather should clear up well before the weekend arrives, although it’s likely to be colder by then.

Monday is expected to be cloudy and windy with a high near 51 and a 50 percent chance for showers, mainly after 1 p.m. The low is expected to drop to about 29 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of showers.

Tuesday should be partly sunny with a high near 42 and a low around 24, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny but cold and windy, with a high of only 37 and a low falling well below freezing to about 18 degrees.

More sunshine is expected on Thursday, when the high should climb to about 38 and the low will dip to about 22.

Friday should be sunny and warmer, with a high near 42 and a low that’s still frosty at about 26.

Similar conditions are expected Saturday, when the high should be around 42 accompanied by sunshine. The low is expected to be around 20.

Look for a sunny sky on Sunday with a high around 37.
