1 dead in wreck on I-77 in Chester

One person died early Monday in a hit-and-run collision on Interstate 77 north in Chester County, S.C.

The incident was reported around 3:10 a.m. near mile marker 59, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

Investigators are looking for a purple commercial vehicle. The identity of the deceased has not been made public.
