Carolinas HealthCare System may name new CEO Thursday
A successor to Carolinas HealthCare System CEO Michael Tarwater could be named Thursday at a special board meeting.
The system announced Monday night that its board of commissioners has called a special meeting for 7 a.m. Thursday “to consider the qualifications of a prospective employee and discuss the pending appointment of a new senior executive.”
Tarwater, who has led the system since 2002, announced last year that he would be retiring in June. The board has been conducting a search for a new CEO and has indicated the new leader would be named before Tarwater leaves.
Thursday’s meeting will be held at Carolinas Medical Center in the third-floor Carolinas Dining Room.
