Report: East Meck student forced into car at gunpoint
An East Mecklenburg High School student told police he was forced into a car at gunpoint as he walked to school last week.
The 16-year-old male said he was walking in the 6400 block of Conference Drive around 7:15 a.m. Thursday.
A white, four-door sedan pulled up beside him, and the driver ordered the teen at gunpoint to get into the car, according to a report from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The driver took the teen to a location nearby and attempted to assault him, the report says. The teen escaped from the car, and the driver fled.
Police are looking for information about the driver. He is described as a dark-skinned black male in his 30s, about 5-feet-9-inches tall and about 200 pounds with shoulder-length dreadlocks and facial hair.
The vehicle was possibly a newer model Chevrolet Impala or Malibu, according to CMPD. If you have information about this case, call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or http://charlottecrimestoppers.com/. The report number is 2016-0218-0713-05.
