Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are at numerous wrecks at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, including on Billy Graham Parkway at Scott Futrell Drive and on westbound Brookshire Freeway at northbound Interstate 77.

Other wrecks have been reported on Providence Road at Sardis Lane, on West W.T. Harris Boulevard at Reames Road, on Johnston Road at Ballantyne Commons Parkway and on Albemarle Road at Harrisburg Road.

Police continue to direct traffic at Atando Avenue and North Graham Street after downed lines knocked out power to the traffic lights, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

Earlier Wednesday, a tractor-trailer crashed into a car parked along the shoulder of northbound I-85 near the Sam Wilson Road exit.

The tractor-trailer driver was charged in the wreck, WBTV reported. The car’s driver had pulled over to rest and is expected to be OK, the station reported. The truck has been towed from the scene.
