New dean named at Queens University of Charlotte

John Sisko has been named dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Queens University of Charlotte.

Sisko comes from The College of New Jersey, where he is interim dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

On July 1, Sisko will succeed Dean Lynn Morton, who has become provost and vice president of academic affairs at Queens, and interim Dean Alexa Royden.

The College of Arts & Sciences is the largest academic unit at Queens, comprising 28 major fields of study in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, arts and education.

Sisko also was a dean’s faculty fellow for three years at The College of New Jersey and coordinator of the honors program and classical studies. He has a doctorate in philosophy from Rutgers University and has been a faculty member at Temple University, the College of William & Mary and California State University at San Bernardino.
