1 person dead after shooting near Mount Holly

One man was fatally shot during a party near Mount Holly around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Gaston County police have not identified the man. He died after being taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center by others who attended the party.

The man had died by the time investigators arrived, according to a report from Gaston County police.

The shooting took place at 500 Lanier Avenue Extension.

Investigators are asking anyone who attended the party to call 704-866-3320 or CrimeStoppers at 704-861-8000.
