Sunshine and below-normal temperatures are expected in the Charlotte area Wednesday.

The forecast high of 51 is 8 degrees below normal for March 2, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

While Wednesday night should be mostly clear, clouds will move into the region Thursday. The chance of showers stands at 40 percent after 2 p.m. Thursday and 80 percent Thursday night.

The rain should quickly move out. Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 54, and no rain is in the forecast through at least Tuesday.

Temperatures, meanwhile, are forecast to gradually climb through the weekend. By Tuesday, the high could reach 71.
