Charlotte Medic treated a man who was found shot near Memorial Stadium Friday night and took him to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they were called to Charlottetown Avenue near Armory Drive about 8 p.m., where they found the wounded victim and a rear windowed that appeared to be shot out.
Medic treated the victim at the scene, then took him to the hospital. CMPD said the shooting took place in east Charlotte about 7 miles away. They wouldn’t say what caused it or if there are suspects.
For much of the night, police cars lined Charlottetown near a parking deck at Central Piedmont Community College as investigators searched the victim’s car. David Perlmutt
