Another mild day for Charlotte on Friday before rain moves into the region

The Charlotte region can expect another mild day Friday before clouds and rain move in for the weekend.

Friday’s high could hit 71 degrees, about 8 degrees above normal for March 19.

But Friday night should become cloudy, with a slight, 30 percent chance of showers.

On Saturday, the chance of rain increases to 70 percent. Showers are likely between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

The chance of rain should begin to diminish Saturday night to 50 percent and to 30 percent Sunday.

The rain will likely bring cooler temperatures. Highs are expected to reach only 57 Saturday and 53 Sunday.

Sunshine should return beginning Monday and stay each day through at least Thursday.

Temperatures are forecast to rise again next week, from an expected high of 55 Monday to 61 Tuesday, 71 Wednesday and 75 Thursday.
