Police: Speed and alcohol contributed to fatal wreck on Brookshire Boulevard early Tuesday

Speed and alcohol contributed to a fatal wreck that closed outbound Brookshire Boulevard at Interstate 485 early Tuesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Sebastian Lamar Jackson, 45, died after his Nissan Maxima rear-ended a 1995 Kenworth dump truck shortly before 3 a.m., police said. The driver and passenger of the dump truck were uninjured.

Jackson was speeding, had consumed alcohol and was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

All lanes were reported open by about 7 a.m.
