SUV cleared guard rail, flipped on I-277

An SUV cleared the guard rail on Interstate 277 near Independence Boulevard and landed on its roof Sunday morning.

When fire and MEDIC arrived they found the SUV off to the side of the inner loop.

The accident happened at approximately 6:50 a.m. Sunday, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

One person was taken to the hospital. The extent of the patient's injuries were not released.

Traffic on the I-277 inner loop was blocked for about 15 minutes as the SUV was towed away.
