Sunny but cooler in Charlotte Tuesday

Sunny skies but cooler temperatures are expected in the Charlotte region Tuesday.

Tuesday’s forecast high of 66 would be 11 degrees lower than Monday’s high, but just one degree below normal for this day of the year.

Wednesday should be likewise sunny, with a forecast high of 68, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

Clouds are expected to roll in Wednesday night, however, as a broad band of rain surges north from the Gulf of Mexico ahead of a cold front.

Thursday has an 80 percent chance of rain, with an expected high of 70.

Showers are likely again Friday morning, before the chance gradually diminishes from 70 percent to 30 percent by Friday night. Friday’s high should be even warmer at 76.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday should be sunny but cooler, with respective highs of 66, 69 and 65.
