More below-normal temperatures for Charlotte area

After a chilly morning in the low 30s, the Charlotte region should end up with sunny skies but a below normal high of 61 on Wednesday.

The normal high for this week of the year is 69. The closest the region is forecast to approach that is 67 Thursday – a day with a 60 percent chance of rain.

Friday should be mostly sunny but with a high of only 60.

Early Saturday could fall back into the high 30s, and Saturday’s high could reach just 53, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.

Frost is possible early Saturday in the Charlotte region and a freeze early Sunday. Sunday’s high could reach only 58 degrees.

Warmth is expected to return Monday, with a high near 70 under sunny skies.
