I-485 blocked for hours Sunday night after pedestrian killed
One person was struck by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 485 Sunday night.
The wreck happened on the outer loop just around 9 p.m. between N.C. 51, Exit 64, and Johnston Road, Exit 60.
The person killed may have been traveling on foot, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner. The identity of the victim has not been made public.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police closed the highway from exits 64 to 61 for about three hours.
All lanes reopened before the Monday morning commute.
