Denver, NC, woman wins $518,545 jackpot in Education Lottery
A Denver, N.C., woman won a $518,545 jackpot in the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Elizabeth Pitts bought the winning $1 Quick Picket at QSC Food Mart on South Main Street in Stanley. She beat odds of 1 in 575,757.
The ticket was from the March 25 drawing. Pitts claimed the jackpot Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
After federal and state tax withholdings, she took home $359,093. She plans to use some of the money to pay bills, according to lottery officials.
