Search underway in University City for Walgreens robber

A man robbed a Walgreens drug store on North Tryon Street in University City early Monday and escaped on foot.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police received a call around 5:55 a.m. for a robbery at the Grande Promenade, at North Tryon and W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Police and K9 are searching for the robber, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
