Charlotte weather: Rain Friday, then a nice weekend
If people in the Charlotte area can shrug off a rainy Friday afternoon, they will be rewarded with a nice weekend.
First up, Thursday should be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s, said Rodney Hinson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
But a cold front moving into the area will bring a 70 percent chance of rain by Friday afternoon, he said. There also is a possibility of thunderstorms. Highs that day will be in the mid-70s.
The rain will taper off by Friday night, Hinson said. “We should have a nice weekend.”
Saturday will be dry with highs in the upper 70s, and Sunday’s temperatures could hit 80 during a mostly sunny day.
Weekend temperatures will be a little above the normal 73 degrees, Hinson said.
