Count the Blue Man Group as the latest act to snub North Carolina over House Bill 2.

The group, known for their blue grease-painted heads and creative stage productions around the world, was scheduled to perform June 17-19 at the Belk Theater in Charlotte’s Blumenthal Performing Arts.

Blumenthal sent out a press release Friday that Blue Man had canceled all the shows. Credit cards used to buy tickets will be automatically refunded. Those who didn’t use credit cards will be refunded by a check. Questions: call 704-372-1000.

In a statement, Blue Man Group members said they regretted any disappointment from the cancellation, but they looked “forward to performing for you again in the future.”

“At the heart of every Blue Man Group performance is a joyful celebration of all human kind – including our commonalities and our differences,” the statement continued. “We value every individual’s right to live a dignified, vibrant life in full color. As such, we are joining the growing list of entertainment professionals in protest of North Carolina’s HB2 ... ”
