Blue Line construction progress is topic of upcoming public meetings

Learn about progress on construction of the Lynx Blue Line extension and offer your input during public meetings next week.

Sessions are scheduled for May 3 and 5. The meetings will include open house-style forums with a presentation at 6:15 p.m. Information presented will be the same at each workshop.

Officials from Charlotte Area Transit System will discuss progress on the light rail extension, answer questions and share the overall vision for the northern line. Guests will be invited to ask questions and offer comments.

Other topics for the session are the Countywide Transit Services Plan, Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan and bus-rail integration for the new light rail leg.

The $1.16 billion, 9.3-mile Blue Line Extension will add 11 stations to the existing Blue Line. The northern line will operate between Ninth Street uptown and UNC Charlotte.
