CMPD looking for armed robbery suspects

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking the public to help identify two men suspected in separate armed robberies in stores.

Police say on April 17, a man with a gun entered the Los Reyes Mini Mart in the 7700 block of Sharon Lakes Road in south Charlotte and demanded money from several people. He fired one shot into the floor and left on foot, police said Wednesday.

Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic male, standing about 5-foot-4, last seen wearing a red hoodie, black pants, black Adidas sneakers and dark sunglasses.

A man fitting a similar description took part in a April 22 robbery in east Charlotte, police say. Two men went into the Rodriquez Supermarket in the 1400 block of Eastway Drive and demanded money from the business. One of the culprits carried a gun and fired a shot into the floor.

Police said one of the suspects is a Hispanic male, also standing about 5-foot-4, with a medium-to-average build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robberies to call Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
