Suspects in a stolen car fled from officers and crashed into two vehicles Wednesday evening in northwest Charlotte, police said.
The incident that started at Rozzelles Ferry Road and West Trade Street near uptown sent three people to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and shut down westbound traffic on Brookshire Boulevard for hours.
Around 6 p.m., officers identified a vehicle allegedly taken in a carjacking and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the car’s driver fled, police said. As police pursued, the car collided with two other vehicles and eventually crashed near the intersection of Brookshire Boulevard and Idaho Drive, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
Two people in the car and a passenger in one of the vehicles it hit were injured.
